Privacy policy
Draft v0.1 · 3 July 2026 · Prepared against the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988)
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name and email when you join.
- Booking details: guest names, contact details, stay/flight details and special requests for each booking.
- Payment: handled by our payment partners — we do not store card numbers.
- Usage: searches, pages viewed and device information, to run and improve the service.
2. How we use it
To make and manage your bookings, operate member pricing, run Rate Watch on bookings you enable it for, send booking-related email, keep the service secure, and — only if you opt in — send offers. We do not sell personal information.
3. Who we share it with
Booking details necessarily go to the travel suppliers who deliver your trip: the hotel or its distribution partner, and the airline for flights. Because trips are often outside Australia, this routinely involves disclosure to overseas recipients in the destination country and to our supply partners’ processing locations. We also use service providers for hosting, analytics and email who process data on our behalf.
4. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (member pricing is a signed-in feature), a booking-reference cookie so your trips page works, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used.
5. Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited, and we keep booking records only as long as needed for travel delivery, our legal obligations (including tax records) and resolving disputes.
6. Access, correction and complaints
Email privacy@taxithi.comto access or correct your information, or to make a privacy complaint. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
